To most students, a sheet of lined notebook paper has one very clear purpose: written misery. To me,It was a door to another dimension.
At first It was hard to see past the harsh blue lines, but eventually I broke through them, disrupting the boundaries of the restricting flat surface; bringing to life the 3 dimensional worlds that resided in my head through the form of drawings. My algebra homework slowly became a battlefield for two bloodlines of swordsmen fighting neck to neck for the survival of their own people. My written essay on The French Revolution of the 1700s transformed into the journey of a hero in search of an ancient light protected by magical creatures to gain the strength to defeat an oncoming dark power that wants to consume the world.
I spent a lot of my time lost in between these blue lines, creating and living in the limitless dimension of my drawings. Today, I try to break the boundaries of design and storytelling by using my illustration and digital skills to interpret the world as only I see it. I want to create stories that will connect with others and show them a world beyond the limiting blue line.
Hi! My name is Chris Yoon, a multidisciplinary motion designer based in Los Angeles that has recently graduated fromArtCenter, and I want to help bring your stories to life. Let's talk!
